A new tribute is now on display at the Terminal 1 James S. McDonnell USO facility honoring the facility’s namesake.
Thousands of military men and women will now see the man behind the name of the USO of Missouri's facilities at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. In the last few weeks, the USO has been getting a facelift at the entrance of its Terminal 1 location. It includes a dedication to the aviation pioneer who founded the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation. Through a company foundation, James S. McDonnell provided the inital funding for the USO facility at Lambert in 1981. A picture and plaque of McDonnell now greet visitors. The McDonnell tribute and other improvements were funded by The Boeing Corporation.
Avoid parking fees the next time you pick up a passenger. Lambert provides free waiting zones for motorists near each terminal.
