Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is encouraging visitors to Play Chess! and take in the wonders of Life at Lambert as part of two new art exhibits that open August 1 in the Terminal 1 Bag Claim.
Chess Inspires...showcases just a fraction of a collection held by the St. Louis-based World Chess Hall of Fame. Visitors will be surprised to see the connections chess has made to the world of art, design and fashion. It's located in Lambert's new Meeting Place Gallery in the Terminal 1 Bag Claim through October 12. Find out more including links to some key pieces of the exhibit.
Just a few steps from the gallery near Bag Claim Carousel 1, is the fascinating exhibit by St. Louis ArtWorks called, A Day in the Life of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. There's 16 works of art on display are from the art mentorship program for St. Louis teens. We armed them with cameras. Mentors guided their vision to help them create vibrant portraits of every day life at Lambert from people waiting for passengers, workers hauling luggage, painting on the taxiways and planes taking off. The exhibit runs through September 21 and the portraits are for sale through St. Louis ArtWorks following the exhibit.
Avoid parking fees the next time you pick up a passenger. Lambert provides free waiting zones for motorists near each terminal.
