The road construction blues outside Lambert's Terminal 1 Bag Claim entrances will end late Sunday, August 5. By Monday, August 6, the 4-lane roadway will reopen to all public traffic including motorists picking up passengers. The passenger pickup zone will return to its normal curbside location at exit 17, after a three month temporary location in the T1 Garage. The free 15 minute grace period in the T1 Garage will end Monday, August 6 as well.
Most of all the ground transporation loading zones will also return to their normal locations along the curb of the Bag Claim Drive (Lower Level) or on the center island. Some road construction will continue on the west end of the roadway. Until the project is fully completed, the temporary loading zone for hotel and motel shuttles will remain on the Arrivals Drive (Upper Level) at Exit 6.
The 4-lane roadway rehabilitation project for Bag Claim Drive, which began April 23, included concrete repairs, resurfacing and waterproofing.
