Friday, February 8, has been designated Mardi Gras Day at the Airport. Airport employees will join the celebration by decorating and dressing up for Mardi Gras. Passengers will be greeted with jazz sounds from local bands throughout the day in both terminals. Here is the featured lineup:
· Jim Stevens Duo- 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. (Terminal 1)
· Heather Matthews Trio- 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. (Terminal 1)
· The Usual Suspects- 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. (Terminal 2)
· St. Louis Songbird Duo- 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. (Terminal 2)
The festive celebration will include volunteers from the St. Louis Convention & Visitor’s Commission’s handing out beads to visitors and arriving passengers throughout the day.
St. Louis Mardi Gras history is also on display at Lambert for the fourth-straight year with the an eye-catching exhibit of the official St. Louis Mardi Gras posters dating back to 1982. The main exhibit is located in the Terminal 1 Baggage Claim area. A second exhibit is in the Terminal 2 ticketing lobby. Both exhibits will remain on display throughout February.
Lambert’s Mardi Gras celebration precedes The River City Casino Grand Parade on February 9. The month-long calendar of Mardi Gras events wrap up with the Lumiere Place Fat Tuesday Parade in downtown St. Louis on February 12. For a list of events and more details, log onto www.mardigrasinc.com.
