Passenger traffic at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport increased 4.4 percent in April marking the fourth straight month of passenger growth. Through April, Lambert is logging a 3.6 percent increase in passenger enplanements for 2012 versus the same time period in 2011. Connecting traffic remains strong for 2012 with an increase of more than 8 percent in April and 11.6 percent for the first four months of 2012. Nearly 509,000 passengers boarded flights from Lambert in April and 1.87 million passengers, year-to-date.
“The numbers certainly support what we witnessed in April here at Lambert with healthy business travel as well as a strong spring leisure travel season,” said Lambert Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “We’ve stayed busy through the Memorial Day holiday weekend so we have every reason to believe this positive growth trend will continue through the summer.”
In June, Lambert will operate approximately 255 daily departures to 61 non-stop destinations. Southwest Airlines will begin service to Lambert’s newest non-stop destination, Panama City Beach, FL, on June 3.
Avoid parking fees the next time you pick up a passenger. Lambert provides free waiting zones for motorists near each terminal.
