Lambert Advantage

Today’s traveling environment is hectic and harried. That’s why Lambert-St. Louis International Airport strives to make our passengers the most important priority.

That commitment is the foundation for the Lambert Advantage program, which focuses on new and improved services and amenities throughout the airport. It’s something extra to make your visit or experience more pleasant, productive and memorable.

Lambert Advantage began in 2007 with the introduction of Lambert’s first live performance area called, the “Music Spot.” Since then, Lambert has unveiled rocking chairs, a new cell phone lot, walking paths and a restaurant makeover plan. More new or improved services and amenities are in development.

Lambert Rocks Image Lambert-St. Louis International Airport offers passengers an alternative way to rest or relax before their flights. Passengers can take a seat on 70 rocking chairs now located beyond the security checkpoints near airline gates and other high profile passenger areas in Lambert’s concourses.

The addition of rocking chairs is part a program called “Lambert Advantage,” which is focused on adding new and improved services and amenities throughout the airport.

“We’ve spent a lot of time listening to our passengers and business traveler groups about what they wanted to see at Lambert,” said Dick Hrabko, Director of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. “Rocking chairs have been a top request. They have been well received at some other airports, but we’ve gone a step further to give these chairs a bit of ‘Lambert personality.’”

Passengers will not have any trouble spotting the blue rocking chairs with Lambert logos as they make their way down to their gates. The adult-sized wooden rockers (47” high, 26” wide) are manufactured by the Hinkle Chair Company of Springfield, Tennessee. The company produces chairs for numerous companies and organizations, but Lambert is one of the first to order rocking chairs with customized colors and logos.

Cell Phone

Cell Phone lot Information

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is providing a Cell Phone Lot for airport users who need to pick up passengers.  This is a free waiting zone for motorists. All drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times. Signs are in place to direct motorists to the location as they approach both terminals at Lambert. The Cell Phone Lot is one-half mile east of Cypress on Lambert International Boulevard.  The parking lot features 150 spaces and is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Cell Phone Lot allows motorists to stay in close proximity of the Main and East Terminals until their arriving party is ready to be picked up.  Passengers make contact with the motorists by phone; they should only do this after they have claimed their luggage.  Motorists can then pull up to the arrivals curbs at either the Main or East Terminal. Drivers will no longer have to continually loop around the airport if passengers don’t arrive on time. Plus, the Cell Phone Lot eases congestion along the arrivals curbs while helping motorists better comply with current security regulations.  Motorists should know that the passenger pick up areas are now for active loading only. If the arriving party is not outside the baggage claim and waiting curbside, traffic officers can direct motorists to leave the passenger pick up zone. This reduces congestion and helps clear the way for other motorists who do see their passengers actively waiting curbside.

Check flight status on new Airline Flight Display Board

The Lambert Cell Phone Lot features an Airline Flight Display Board. Users can check the status of flights on the color LED board (6.5 ft H x 16 ft W) that shows all incoming flights within 60 minutes of their scheduled arrival time. The arrival information is cycled through at 12 flights per page. The board updates the status of each flight. Even if a flight is listed as “Landed” or “Arrived,” motorists are encouraged to wait until their arriving party actually calls them before departing for the Main or East Terminals.

Start Walking Paths Image Lambert-St. Louis International offers marked walking paths for passengers.  The paths are part of the Lambert Advantage program, which focuses on new amenities and better services for passengers and visitors.

Lambert partnered with the St. Louis area chapter of the American Heart Association to develop the walking paths as part of that organization’s national campaign called Start! The program promotes active, year-round participation in walking for healthier lifestyles.

“We know passengers often arrive early and have extra time before they board,” said Dick Hrabko, Director Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. “The walking paths give our passengers an incentive to squeeze in some healthy exercise during their busy travel schedules.”

Most passengers can access the two one-mile walking paths after clearing through security. The Main Walking Path is just beyond the C/D security checkpoint in the Main Terminal.  The East Walking Path is just west of the security checkpoint in the East Terminal. Both paths are routed through Lambert’s D Concourse.

Walkers can keep track of their distance with highly visible Start! markers at each quarter-mile point along the paths.

Other recent Lambert Advantage programs include a live music performance area called the “Music Spot,” rocking chairs for passengers and new cell phone parking lot.

Restaurant Makeover Image Lambert-St. Louis International has unveiled a $16 million plan that will give passengers and airport visitors more upscale and local food choices, more seats and better services. The restaurant makeover plan is part of a 7 years, 11 months contract extension with HMSHost.

The new agreement lays out an ambitious plan to build or renovate about two dozen food and beverage locations at Lambert with the majority of work complete by 2011.  HMSHost will introduce eight new food concepts with an emphasis on adding popular St. Louis food brands including Mosaic, Fitz’s.  It also includes a new concept called, Missouri Vineyards, which will emphasize local wines and food.  The plan will also bring Lambert popular brands now at other airports including Brioche Doree, a French bakery and café, Freshens, Baja Fresh and an enhanced Budweiser themed restaurant/bar.

“Through our Lambert Advantage program, we have been focusing on giving our passengers and visitors more choices, amenities and services,” said Dick Hrabko, Director of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. “We’re excited about the opportunity to bring more upscale and unique dining choices for local travelers and our visitors from outside the region.”

The first new restaurants under construction are the Brioche Doree and the Missouri Vineyards which will be located in the west end of the Main Terminal Ticketing Hall near Door MT 6. More information at Airport Experience
