Lambert expands recycling with new waste containers
(St. Louis) Lambert-St. Louis International Airport has expanded its recycling campaign to now include plastic bottles. New multi-waste containers have been placed at the entrance of each concourse so passengers can deposit plastic containers along with newspapers and non-recyclable trash.
This phase of Lambert’s recycling program is a collaborative effort with Kirkwood-based Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The organization purchased half of the new recycling containers for its mission, Franciscans for Earth.
In 2007, Lambert began diverting paper-based recyclable materials from its waste stream in all operational areas. In early 2008, Lambert added paper recycling containers in all airport terminals and concourses.News Release Archives
