Curb Appeal: STL Photo of the Week

Anybody picking up passengers this weekend at Terminal 1 will notice there’s a lot more curb appeal at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. In fact, the Arrivals Drive curb has had no appeal for several months because it was closed off from pedestrians as part of a major reconstruction project that just reached a milestone on Friday when the north lanes were re-opened. Crews spent the last several month rehabilitating the entire stretch of the arrivals curb and the concrete roadway, which actually bridges over part of the Terminal 1 bag claim. Today, passenger pickup returned to curbside (after months in the T1 Garage) where visitors exit to ultra-clean sidewalks and newly painted cross walks. Motorists get a smoother ride to where they are going, too. The rehabilitation of the southern lanes of Arrivals Drive was completed earlier this year. The final curb appeal piece of the project will be a new staircase and ramp that gives pedestrians access between Arrivals Drive and Departures Drive above. That phase of the project will be finished by early 2020.
