Heading North: STL Photo of the Week
Posted on June 07, 2019 in Photos
Since Sun Country Airlines made its debut at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) in the fall of 2018, its focus was heading south with non-stop service to Fort Myers, FL (RSW) and Tampa, FL (TPA). This week the airline switched directions. It is now heading north for the summer with 4x/wk service to its base airport in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (MSP) and 2x/wk service to Portland, OR (PDX). We captured the first arrival of this new summer schedule for Sun Country with the landing of Flt #275, a Boeing 737-800. An hour later, it was back up in the skies heading north with passengers who were likely flying to experience a “cool” city, cooler temperatures or to connect on elsewhere. Sun Country’s next seasonal move has already been announced. It will head west. The airline will begin serving Las Vegas, NV (LAS) September 5 (swapping out the service to PDX this summer). The airline will continue serving LAS and MSP through the end of the year.
