Play Me Piano: STL Photo of the Week

KMOV feature reporter and photographer Steven Harris interviewed United Airlines Bryan Johnson this week about the new “Play Me” Piano.

The new “Play Me” piano at St. Louis Lambert International Airport is getting quite of lot of play time since its debut a week ago. We got a little help from Steven Harris of KMOV this week to get the word out about the new tune sharing we have going in the lower level of Terminal 1, on the Aero Event Space Stage. That’s across from Starbucks. It’s tune sharing because the piano is open to any player- passenger, visitor or employee- who wants to play. They share their talents to whoever is in the audience at the time. Harris interviewed the Airport’s own Bryan Johnson, with United Airlines. He can be seen almost daily playing jazz and more popular tunes during his break times. He also played the piano frequently before it was moved from the Missouri Vineyards restaurant. The move to its new location included a makeover of the keys, a tune up and a shine. He told KMOV that playing piano is almost spiritual. But he also says listening to the piano can be therapeutic for the audience, especially in an airport where stress and anxiety levels are always high.  Check out Steve's story on KMOV: http://bit.ly/STLPiano
