STL Photo of the Week: Plane Fun

Posted on March 29, 2019 in Photos

Airports across the world share many common features that can all start to blend together if you travel often enough. For children, however, the travel experience provides a unique opportunity to learn new things and explore the magic of aviation. St. Louis Lambert International (STL) is home to the St. Louis International Play Port, created by The Magic House. The 1,5000 square-foot area is located on the C Concourse and is modeled after real airport experiences. The Play Port features an air traffic control tower with a slide, a kid-sized plane, car rental counters, luggage conveyor belt, and an airport screening area complete with a pretend x-ray machine. The Play Port also features a car, a train, and a truck so children can explore all different types of transportation while burning off some energy before their flight. Even if they don’t travel often, we hope the Play Port sparks their imagination and maybe they’ll become the next generation of aviation professionals. After all, “Aviation Geeks” have to start somewhere!
