Inspection of MetroLink Alignment on LIB Moves Forward
One westbound LIB lane stays closed during Stage 3
ST. LOUIS, MO (November 4, 2021): Starting this morning, the right westbound lane of Lambert International Boulevard (LIB) will be closed just west of St. Louis Lambert International Airport’s (STL) Terminal Two (T2) garage exit. This is occurring as Metro Transit begins stage three of its biennial inspection of the elevated MetroLink tracks that run just east of STL’s T2 to STL’s Terminal One (T1). This inspection is a 12 stage process.
Stage three commences at 7 a.m. Also during stage three, the two-lane traffic exiting from Departures Drive at STL’s T2 will be reduced to one lane. This closure will alternate between the right (westbound) exiting lane and the left (eastbound) exiting lane (see the accompanying diagrams). Stage three work is scheduled to be finished by 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, November 5).
As the inspection moves to other sections of the MetroLink tracks, the public can expect other various lane closures as well as rerouting of traffic. Announcements by STL will be made prior to any traffic pattern changes. This MetroLink project is scheduled to be completed on November 13.
