Jet Fan Maintenance Creates Lindbergh Tunnel Lane Closures

Daytime preventive work will take place next week

ST. LOUIS, MO (August 11, 2023): Beginning Monday morning on August 14, portions of the Lindbergh Tunnel will be closed for jet fan maintenance. This required preventive maintenance of the tunnel’s jet fans will take place over four days. From Monday, August 14 through the afternoon of Tuesday, August 15 the northbound lanes of the tunnel will be closed. Then starting on Wednesday morning, August 16 and ending Thursday afternoon on August 17 the southbound lanes will be closed. If an additional day is needed for any uncompleted or delayed work, Friday, August 18 has been selected as a contingency workday (see schedule listed below).

Each day at 8:30 a.m. safety crews will begin setting up for the lane closures. The required work will take place Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The preventive maintenance work must be performed in empty tunnel cells. During this time, the tunnel’s digital message boards will relay the current outages to drivers using this specific roadway.

TUE Aug 15 0900-1500 Northbound cell Left lane will be closed

WED Aug 16 0900-1500 Southbound cell Left lane will be closed

THU Aug 17 0900-1500 Southbound cell Right lane will be closed

FRI Aug 18 *Reserved as a Contingency Day
