Initial work on STL’s Runway 12R-30L will run until mid-September
ST. LOUIS, MO (April 11, 2022): Starting today, St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) begins construction on Runway 12R-30L. Runway 12R-30L runs from Banshee Road at its far northwest point to James S. McDonnell Boulevard.
Beginning today, Runway 12R-30L will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On April 18, the closure will expand to a continuous closure for the construction season.
This work will have operational impacts. For STL’s southeast air traffic, planes will now use Runway 12L as the primary departure runway and Runway 11 will be the primary runway for planes landing at STL from that direction. While the airport’s northwest air traffic will use Runway 29 for departures and Runway 30R will handle arrivals from that direction.
This portion of the construction project will end in mid-September.
