STL undergoing construction at Terminal 2 Departing Flights Drive

Will close two of four lanes overnight
ST. LOUIS, MO (September 30, 2025): St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) will begin Phase 2 construction on Terminal 2 Departing Flights Drive starting Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025. The project will require temporary lane closures during overnight hours for a 5-7 day period.
Beginning October 1, the two northern lanes (Lanes 1 and 2) of T2 Departing Flights Drive will be closed for construction between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly. During these hours, all traffic will be diverted to the two southern lanes (Lanes 3 and 4).
Important Information for Travelers:
- ADA Accessibility Maintained: The ADA accessible area in front of Entry 1 will remain open for passenger access throughout construction. Vehicles dropping off passengers will use Lane 3 for unloading.
- Daytime Operations: Between 4 a.m. and 8 p.m., construction crews will remove cones from the east and west ends of the work zone when possible. However, a significant portion of the worksite and southern lanes will remain in place during daytime hours.
- Traffic Flow: Vehicles exiting T2 Departing Flights Drive will continue to have the option to travel eastbound or westbound at the traffic signal. The pedestrian crosswalk will remain open throughout the project.
Planning Your Visit
Travelers using T2 should allow extra time for drop-offs and pickups during the construction period. STL recommends arriving at the airport with sufficient time to navigate any potential delays.
