The Boys in the Band

This 8’ x 6’ acrylic painting on canvas combines the central images from a body of independently-titled abstract works. Arranged to capture the spirit of a live stage performance, The Boys in the Band showcases seven characters exercising their musical gifts for an unseen audience.
About the Artist: Kevin Hopkins
Kevin Hopkins is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois and a graduate from the Illinois State University College of Fine Arts. A seasoned photographer and painter, Hopkins often depicts abstract works centered around events from his childhood, local and national headlines, and his time spent photographing local models and musicians.
