The increase in non-stop service to Frankfurt begins today

ST. LOUIS, MO June 1, 2026 – As of today, those traveling from St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) on Lufthansa Airlines will have two additional days in which to book a flight each week. The German airline is increasing service from three to five days a week. This seasonal increase in service will run from June 1, 2026 to October 23, 2026.

“We are glad to see this increase in service by Lufthansa on the fourth anniversary of non-stop service to Frankfurt,” says Airport Director and CEO Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “The reported loads on the Frankfurt service have remained high from the inaugural flight back in June of 2022 and this is an acknowledgement of the support our regional travelers have shown to Lufthansa.”

“We are deeply grateful for St. Louis’s exceptional community support over the pastfour years, which has enabled Lufthansa to fulfill our mission of connecting people, cultures, and economies by successfully linking Lambert International Airport and all of Missouri to the group’s global network,” said Dirk Janzen, Lufthansa Group Vice President for Passenger Sales of the Americas. He added, “The additional frequencies demonstrate our strong commitment to this route and will further strengthen connections between the region’s world-class academic institutions and Fortune 500 companies with Europe and beyond.”

Currently, the airline uses Airbus A330-300 aircraft for their three-time a week service at STL (with arrivals and departures every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). The A330-300 seats 255 passengers in a three-tier configuration of business, premium economy and economy classes. In the summer of 2024, Lufthansa averaged 94 percent load factors on the flights flown out of STL.

St. Louis is one of 26 US gateways served by the Lufthansa Group. Through its vast network of European hubs in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, the Lufthansa Group airlines offer its customers an array of some 300 destinations across Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia.
