  • The Wage and Hour Division WHD of the U.S. Department of Labor DOL – St. Louis District Overview – Date: June 26, 2026, Time: 9:00 a.m. – Noon / Course Description: the Wage and Hour Division of the United States Department of Labor is the federal office responsible for enforcing federal labor laws. The Division was formed with the enactment of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. Their mission is to promote and achieve compliance with labor standards to protect and enhance the welfare of the nation’s workforce. Wage & This in-person session will detail the changes to both the certification and compliance components of the program. Wage & Hour Investigators will inform new and small businesses about what their responsibilities are and review the laws enforced by the Wage & Hour Division within the St. Louis District.
  • How to Avoid Error in Filling Out Certified Payrolls – David Bacon related Acts Federal Contracting – Date: July 10, 2026, Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. / Course Description (1): How to Avoid Errors in Filling Out Certified Payrolls – A WH 347 form is used by the United States Department of Labor. Form WH-347 is commonly used by contractors and subcontractors to submit their weekly payrolls as required by their federal and federally aided construction contracts. The DOL and federal contracting agencies review this information to determine that employees have received legally required wages and fringe benefits for all contracts subject to these rules. Receive step-by-step instructions on how to complete the form accurately. Learn how to avoid common errors in filling out certified payroll forms and what type of fines & penalties may be accessed if the forms are filled out incorrectly and/or wages are not accurately recorded. Course Description (2): David Bacon Related Acts (Federal Contracting) – Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, apply to contractors and subcontractors performing on federally funded or assisted contracts in excess of $2,000 for the construction, alteration, or repair (including painting and decorating) of public buildings or public works. Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act instructs contractors and subcontractors to pay their laborers and mechanics employed under the contract no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits for corresponding work on similar projects in the area.   • The McNamara – O’Hara Service Contract Act – Date: July 14, 2026, Time: 9:00 a.m. – Noon / Course Description: The McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act requires contractors and subcontractors performing services on prime contracts in excess of $2,500 to pay service employees in various classes no less than the wage rates and fringe benefits found prevailing in the locality, or the rates (including prospective increases) contained in a predecessor contractor’s collective bargaining agreement. The Department of Labor issues wage determinations on a contract-by-contract basis in response to specific requests from contracting agencies. These determinations are incorporated into the contract.
