Speed and Reflection
by Andy Cross
Exhibition Dates: December 2023 to June 2024
Location: Terminal 2 East Wall
Travel can be a routine part of our lives, or it can be an adventure. Classic cars embrace the excitement of that adventure, through design, color, and style. Cross’ goal is to offer travelers a splash of color and perhaps capture your attention for a moment. These paintings can be appreciated whether you are rushing by, or if you have a moment to slow down and take a closer look. When he draws or sketches, his subjects are usually landscapes, plants, trees, rivers, and streams, and often they are small pen and ink or pencil drawings; only a few inches wide by a few inches tall. By contrast, his paintings are large with bold colors, and the brushes he uses are sometimes larger than the dimensions of his drawings. These two artistic extremes feed off each other, and they are a great artistic exercise for layout and design.
