STL Winter Storm Response January 12, 2019

4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12 Update

As of 4:00 p.m. CST, airlines at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) have cancelled 55 arrivals and 62 departures for Saturday, January 12, 2019 due to Winter Storm Gia. STL is expecting an additional 1-3 inches of snow throughout the evening and will remain open and operational. 

Check the status of your flight with your airline before heading to the airport. You do not need to come to the airport to change your flights. If you have any questions concerning your flight, contact your airline directly.

As a reminder, Terminal 1 passenger pickup has been temporarily relocated to the yellow level of the Terminal 1 garage. The Uber and Lyft pickup zone have also recently been relocated. The pickup zone in Terminal 1 is on the Departures level, near Entry 6. The Terminal 2 pickup zone is located on Arrivals Drive, between Entries 15 and 16. 

9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12 Update

As of 9:30 a.m. CST, airlines at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) have cancelled 38 arrivals and 52 departures for Saturday, January 12, 2019 due to Winter Storm Gia. STL is expecting more snow throughout the day and will remain open and operational. 

Check the status of your flight with your airline before heading to the airport. You do not need to come to the airport to change your flights. If you have any questions concerning your flight, contact your airline directly.

5:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12 Update

As of 5:00 a.m. CST, airlines at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) have cancelled 28 arrivals and 46 departures for Saturday, January 12, 2019 because of Winter Storm Gia. 

More cancellations are likely, as the storm continues throughout the day.

Check the status of your flight with your airline before heading to the airport. You do not need to come to the airport to change your flights. If you have any questions concerning your flight, contact your airline directly.

6 p.m. Update

There are 53 Arriving flights and 39 Departing flights cancelled as of 6 p.m. at St. Louis Lambert International Airport because of Winter Storm Gita.

Expect dozens of cancellations into Saturday, January 12, as the storm centers on the St. Louis region through the night and into the morning hours.

2:30 p.m. Update

As of 2:30 pm CST, airlines at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) have cancelled 53 arrivals and 39 departures, and there are approximately 14 delayed departures for Friday, January 11, 2019 as Winter Storm Gia moves in. 

Winter weather has arrived and snow crews are on hand to maintain favorable airfield conditions. STL will remain fully operational throughout the entire winter storm. 

Southwest AirlinesUnited Airlines, & Delta Airlines have issued travel waivers for passengers flying to or from STL. Check the status of your flight with your airline before heading to the airport. You do not need to come to the airport to change your flights. If you have any questions concerning your flight, contact your airline directly.

12:30 pm 

As of 12:30 pm CST, airlines at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) have cancelled 39 arrivals and 30 departures for Friday, January 11, 2019 in advance of Winter Storm Gia. 

STL is expecting the winter weather to begin around 1:00 pm and continue through Saturday. The airport will remain fully operational and have crews on staff at all times to maintain airfield conditions and safety.  

Southwest AirlinesUnited Airlines, & Delta Airlines have issued travel waivers for passengers flying to or from STL. Check the status of your flight with your airline before heading to the airport. You do not need to come to the airport to change your flights. If you have any questions concerning your flight, contact your airline directly.
